Victoria's Ryder Hesjedal takes himself out of 2016 Rio Olympics

Canadian cycling star Ryder Hasadjadl withdrew his name from nomination for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Hasadjadl, which made Canadian history when he won the Grand Prix in Italy in 2012, announced the decision in a tweet posted Friday, citing a long cycling season in the future.


Two weeks ago, Victoria, aged 35 years to abandon the Tour of Italy in 2016 because of illness forced. Hasadjadl was fifth in last year's race and ninth last year. In London, the completion of the Olympic Games 201 228 in the individual pace and 63 in the road race.
