Syracuse basketball season ends with loss to Ole Miss in NIT

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse's season came to an end with an 85-80 loss to the Ole Miss Rebels in the second round of the NIT on Saturday.

Syracuse trailed for most of the second half, but it looked like the Orange might have one more comeback left in the tank.

The Orange, which had rallied for wins over North Carolina State, Clemson, Virginia and Duke, couldn't pull off one more comeback.

Syracuse tied the game at 71 on Andrew White's 3-pointer with just over four minutes remaining and then again when White hit another three to make it 74-74 with 3:39 left.

But Ole Miss had too many answers; and too many shooters. Cullen Neal and Deandre Burnett each hit 3-pointers to counter White's treys. Terence Davis went for 30 points, including six 3-pointers.

Syracuse finishes the year with a 19-15 record.
